傘をかたどった唐銅製の蓋置です。

共箱には「唐物写」「七十三叟　釜師一道」と記されており、京の釜師・高木治良兵衛（一道）（1881-1957）の晩年の作（昭和28年（1953）頃）であることがうかがい知れるのです。
桐箱の側面2面の貼紙には「石州好傘蓋置」

片桐石州（貞昌）（1605-1673）は江戸時代の大名で大和小泉藩の第2代藩主。高名な茶人でもあり、茶道石州流の祖としても知られています。
